Quieting The Judging Mind Dharma Talk & Vipassanā Meditation
June 12, 2018 @ 6:15 pm - 8:00 pm
“We have a judge in our minds that wouldn’t be allowed to sit on any court in the world.” – Jack Kornfield.
How often have we said things to ourselves and about ourselves that we would never allow anyone else to say? It seems impossible to stop this compulsive train of thinking, even when we know how much suffering it causes us.
I would be delighted if you could join me on Tuesday June 12th for the final in a series of Dharma talks and guided meditations being held at the beautiful Toast store in London’s Westbourne Grove, during which we will be exploring ways in which it becomes possible to shift our thinking away from the rigid and painful state of the ‘Judging’ (and/or ‘Victim’) mind.
Seeking via the Buddhist ‘Four Immeasurables’ (Loving kindness, Compassion, Empathetic Joy & Equanimity) a path away from our smaller selves, and learning to become the easy and loving witness within our own lives, and of those around us.
A gentle guided Vipassanā meditation will follow, helping us to explore these concepts in a compassionate and healing way.
Teas and light refreshments to be served, and please do remember to bring something comfy to sit on, and maybe a shawl or blanket to snuggle up in.
An offering of £10 is suggested. I very much look forward to seeing you there.
Love,
Charlotte
