Andalucían ‘Path With Heart Retreat’

For all my lovely friends here, but also mindful that flights to Spain are now being scheduled from July 1st, it is my great pleasure to offer my 5-night Bodhicitta Lifeworks Summer ‘Path With Heart’ Retreat, to be hosted at the magnificently beautiful Cortijo El Indiviso, on the outskirts of Vejer De La Frontera, Andalucía (The Land of Light).

The intention of this retreat as we emerge blinking from this surreal moment in time is to provide a complete cleanse, recharge, rebalance and restoration of mind, body and spirit. Finding space and taking time out to breathe… honouring and letting go of these recent days, and setting our own Sankalpas for the future.

I would like to keep this retreat small, intimate and full of magic so it will be a maximum of six people – First come, first serve!!

The daily routine of the retreat will offer a gentle morning meditation before breakfast, to be followed later by Hatha/Yin Yoga poolside beneath the olive trees (suitable for all levels) with my long time favourite ever yoga teacher!! (also a great masseuse and offering that service as an extra option.)

After lunch, chill time (riding, beach or just reading on the lawn…)

Each afternoon, I will lead a gentle Buddhist Dharma workshop (topics to include for example; Equanimity, forgiveness, The Four Noble Truths & The Noble Eightfold Path) to be followed with a connecting Vipassanā (insight) meditation. We can hold these either in the hall or on the lawn, and they (I hope!) are relaxed, informative, healing and interactive.

In the evening after supper and before bed I will offer Yoga Nidra (Sleep Yoga) to help with the sweetest of dreams…

Set on 22 acres of land but only 5 minutes from the beautiful town of Vejer de la Frontera, Cortijo El Indiviso is perfectly positioned, with outstanding views over uninterrupted countryside and a mere 15 minutes drive from the natural beaches of El Palmar and Zahora.

The ranch Cortijo El Indiviso, built in 1895 but recently renovated in a labour of love by the exceptionally welcoming Jason & Eve De Cartaret, is a pleasing blend of old and new. Free to drift off to sleep beneath a 700-year-old olive tree (but with free Wi-Fi available should you even have the inclination to use it!)

Set around a central typically Andalusían courtyard filled with blossom and fruit trees, all clean and comfortable bedrooms offer either courtyard or garden views, are Air Conditioned, have private bathrooms and are well designed in period style, true to the Cortijo history.

The charming and talented Jean Hubert, (a chef of international renown and expertise) will be providing a varied and delicious vegetarian menu (with vegan option) for a buffet breakfast, light lunch and scrummy supper using locally sourced organic produce. An honesty bar is available at all times in the main hall. The retreat will be alcohol-free.

Guests are free to roam the magnificent grounds, visiting the animals that have made their home here. Part of the ethos of Cortijo El Indiviso being the soul healing qualities of nature and its animals, here including cats, dogs (Joe will naturally be attending, and demonstrating his Downward Dog), ponies, ducks, geese, chickens, donkeys, horses, goats, rabbits, and a large range of visiting birds who nest on the land.

For horse lovers, there are indoor and outdoor stables, a horse walker and two training arenas. Riding on the 22 acres of ranch land is available with trained Cortijo staff, also on the beach at El Palmar.

Pricing

I am offering these five nights at the price of 995€ (£892) with a 20% deposit to be paid upon booking and reserving your place. The balance to be paid at the beginning of the week preceding the retreat.

Friend promotion (ideal for twin room!) – Basically, bring a friend and I can knock off 50€

Single Occupancy (Double bedroom – an additional 165€)

Payment to be made by bank transfer or PayPal (friends & family).

Extras available include riding at the Cortijo on their beautiful horses @ €45 and/or a beach ride at El Palmar @ €60

(There is a wonderful art exhibition at Montemedio – NMAC about 30 mins lovely walk (off-road) @ €8 per person.)

Room 3 – Very large double bed (intended for a couple, but if luxuriating solo an additional 165€!)

Room 7 – 2 x Single beds (shared)

Ample free parking is available and we are in close proximity to the fabulous Vejer de la Frontera, Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera and Tarifa (Gibraltar is only 55 minutes away)

Travel Information:

The Cortijo is close to 4 major airports, Jerez, Gibraltar, Seville and Malaga. All these airports are serviced by multiple UK airports with direct flights.

Costs of shared transfers per person are detailed below and individual transfers can be arranged on request.
